A week ago I tried a HUPC and could taste absolutely nothing.  Seriously, I didn’t even smell smoke with a lit cigar in my mouth.  I was coming down with the “Creeping Crud”.   After trying this PLPC I’m afraid some of it is still with me....   Paired tonight with a Kirk and Sweeney 23yo rum mojito made with fresh mint from our garden and limes from our lime tree.    The mojito was perfect.   Funny I could taste that okay...   I was encouraged to fire up this stick.

This cab has been fantastic to date.   43/50 smoked and only one tent peg.   The rest have been fantastic.  I’m guessing this would have been the rule rather than the exception as it felt and burned perfectly.   Razor sharp, white ash, zero relights.   But my oropharynx must still be impaired. It just wasn’t “on” for me.   At least now I can smell smoke....  The flavor was very thin and one dimentional.   Where I knew baking spice and caramel-sweetness should be I just managed to note a sharp acidity and a one dimentional thin spicy flavor uncharacteristic of the marca.  I need to lay off another week.   Hard to do given we are reviewing my (and many other’s) favorite size smokes.  I definitely lean towards the 30-45 minute cigar....   Such a perfect size, and if I’m not completely satisfied and have more time I just reach for another. 

Hopefully I can make a better showing next weekend.
