Popular Post Phinz Posted December 13, 2015 Popular Post Posted December 13, 2015 A lovely smoke to start a unseasonable warm Sunday morning. This is by far the smallest ring gauge cigar in my humidor, coming in at a 6"x 32 Slim Panetela. I've paired this with my morning coffee. First 1/3: A touch of bitter almond flavor and far more smoke production then you'd expect from such a small cigar. Both the draw and burn are perfect. Second 1/3: Some earthy leather flavored notes add themselves to the initial floral/almond notes. Burn and draw continue to be spot-on. Final 1/3: Smoke production continues to be amazing, some fruit notes join in, too. However, it gets a bit overheated and harsh once I pass the band, so I give it up and get started with my day. This box was an impulse purchase when they showed up on the 24:24, as I've seldom seen LGC's anywhere. This cigar makes it into my top ten for 2015, just because of how much it surprised me! I'm normally a robusto smoker, but this cigar clearly shows how great and complex a long/skinny Cuban can be (makes me wish so many of this size hadn't been discontinued). 6
El Presidente Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Construction on these has been pretty good throughout the year. Flavours are quite intense and as you have so eloquently described. Plenty of upside in the medium term. Thanks for the review! 1
RockemSockem Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I'm loving these as well. Purchased one, was impressed, purchased a second! 1
