Punch Super Robusto Asia Pacific RE 06

Size - 6 ½" x 50, pretty big but the 50 ring gauge actually felt ok in hand. Big difference between a 50 and 52 IMHO, then say between a 46 and 48 or 48 and 50.

Appearance and construction- Couple of big veins but they looked nice. Also, colorado claro colour. Like a very milky chocoloate wrapper.

Well built, burned straight throughout, slightly resistant draw (as cuban lovers like).

Aroma at cold - barnyard, hints of hay and dried tea leaves.

Couple with - Ron Zacapa 23, water.

1st third - roasted peanuts! also a very strong cinnamon through the nose (I love when i cigar has sweet spice through the nose and not just pepper).

Medium bodied, in fact it never deviated from the line the whole way.

2nd- my girlfriend had a puff and said she tasted chocolate and coffee bean 'nibs'. She was bang on. the second third brought a nice chocolate and cocao flavour. 70% dark chocolat, still some milk. Also toasted tobacco.

Cinnamon through nose remained but lessened about half way.

final 3rd- Darker coffee flavours, more chocolate with the cinnamon and roasted nuts of the first third moving in and out.

Overall- Easy 92/93. Just a great cigar. Thanks Steve (ozcuban) for gifting this. I had had them before (courtesy of another great FOH member) and remember the roasted nuts but the darker choc flavours and cinnamon through the nose were new to me and really made this a pleasure.

Nice review man! I've never had one of these but something about them has always given me a fondness for them, I think I love the idea of all that Punch goodness in a vitola like that. Not sure why because I hardly ever smoke big cigars but hey, still looks delicious!

06 Punch Super Robusto RE

Initial puff is sweet wood, dry cardboard like

Construction is great, stored in humi for a month @ 65/65

Aftertaste is straw like like w a hint of sweet peanuts

Pretty one dimensional in the beginning

2/3 is more of the same....not a bad cigar just no personality so far

Sweet paper like flavor.....not a favorite flavor for me :)

Finishes the same basically

Glad I was able to try these bit also glad I dont own any, I am a big Punch fan but this was flat for me
