Evangundy Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I am working on my wineador. It keeps the correct temp, but the RH is around 70-72 with 2lbs of 65% heartfelt beads. Any suggestions? It's a vinotemp 28.

It's a vinotemp 28. Dry the beads out and reinsert in the humi. Give it a week or two to adjust- your sticks may just be very wet. If that doesn't do it, consider adding some damp-rid or other dessicant for a short period until you achieve the RH you desire.
Evangundy Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 If it was leaking, wouldn't the RH be too low, not high?
CaptainQuintero Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 You can always take the beads out and dry them with a hair dryer. When they have gone completely white and cooled down pop them back in and don't open the door for two weeks, I was having the same problems with my 40 bottle fridge (turned off) until I did that, popped them back in and left it, beads seem to need a good two weeks to get used to their new home and sort themselves out. I made the mistake of following the wetting instructions and in reality the beads were far too wet, they only need at most a quarter of them to be clear (wet) I think after two weeks everything should be grand, unless you have the fridge turned on then it could be something to do with the unit operating which is cocking thing up. Had the fridge set up for 10 months now and it's not needed anything doing to it for 9 months
Cohiba Stevie Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 If it was leaking, wouldn't the RH be too low, not high? Not always. A leak in the humidor will always lead to the same ambient humidity in your home being reflected inside your humidor
Dbone Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Yeah, give them some time and can never have enough beads :-) If you haven't, split your beads up. I head to the drug store and buy cheap girl nylons, clear. For instance, you can take the 2lbs and break them up into 6 stockings = more surface area and better efficency of the beads. Good luck!
Bartolomeo Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Buy more beads Hate to say it but it will work/help your situation Never have enough beads and when you start adding more boxes you can remove the beads and hopefully the humi will even out
