Well done to all who sent in their results to the 7th of March

For those who haven't I won't scrub you. But if you miss the 7th April weigh in I will have to ;)

Congrats to all that have dropped some weight. Some of you are going gangbusters, the vast majority are going great guns. Some are struggling but it is early days and a little focus will move mountains.

The first month is the easy one. The second and third normally require some discipline to maintain the rage. For those that have struggled....don't worry, you can get right back in contention with 3 weeks of dedication.

And remember.....there are no carbs/calories in Cigars :ok:

Congrats to kafreeman for a superb effort and our current leader. Has he gone out too hard? Can he hang on? the April results will be interesting!

I'm changing up my work out routine now... we'll see what happens.

Bad weekend... a ton of food and a ton of alcohol. No biggie though... can't retain too much from only two days.

I was down another five from the first... but as of now from Friday I'm up six.... lbs that is. Congrats to everyone keep your head up and catch me!

Damn...I gotta take this contest more seriously...can't believe I'm only one of three to actually gain weight over the last month. You guys have some serious willpower. I guess I'm really going to have to buckle down...

By the way...nice work guys.

Good work boys. Nice to see so many people taking this serious. Tip for anyone exercising: elevated (zone 2 or 3) heart rate for >20mins a day will seriously cut into your fat reserves. Running/cycling/swimming are your best ways to win this.

keep it up guys! i'm not in the comp but i'm working out to lose some pounds myself, then regain it in muscle

Prez,

My wife wanted me to thank you for motivating me to lose weight. I have stopped snoring and I am sleeping better and feeling better rested.

Well done kafreeman!!

Lots of weight lost already by the participants. Good job to all! Several folks with huge weight loss in such a short time! I had plateaued at the time of my last report but its coming off again. Its interesting how that happens, nothing for a week and then 5 pounds the next week without having changed the routine. I hope to break the century mark before the end of March.

Just looked at the stats. The total group of 56 fat bastards weigh in at 6.44 tonne! So far, as a group, we have lost a total of 172.532kg.

Great Job everyone involved.....Here is some food for thought!

you entered 381 pounds (173 kilograms).

381 pounds is the average weight of 2.23 30-year old men.

How Much Fuel Is That?

To lose that amount of fat would mean to burn 1,333,500 calories or 5,579,364 KiloJoules! That is the equivalent of 43.04 gallons of gasoline. Humans, however, are far more efficient than cars, getting about 912 "miles to the gallon". If you could dump this many calories into the tank of a Honda Civic, you would be able to drive it about 1,463 miles before running out of gas!

Let's see how your goal would convert to other forms of fuel. 1,333,500 calories is equivalent to:

43.04 gallons of gasoline, or

476.25 pounds of coal, or

661.55 pounds of oven-dried wood, or

58.24 gallons of propane

This amount of energy would ...

Brew about 3,720 pots of coffee, or

Light a 60-watt light bulb for 25,830 hours ( 1,076 days = 2.93 years)

Cutting 1,333,500 calories is the same as saying "no" to:

16,669 apples, or

13,335 bananas, or

78,441 cups of cabbage (whew!), or

9,197 baked potatoes, or

16,669 large eggs, or

11,113 cups of 2% milk, or

961 pounds of ground beef, or

15,328 glasses of wine, or

4,128 Snickers bars, or

5,556 Clif Bars ( 7,408 Luna Bars), or

9,594 cans of Coke, or

7,844 pints of Guinness beer, or

2,710 Big Macs, or

2,589 Quarter Pounders with Cheese, or

1,905 Whoppers, or

4,041 Subway 6" Oven Roasted Chicken Breast sandwiches, or

7,844 Taco Bell crunchy tacos, or

5,674 slices of pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut

What it Takes to Burn 1,333,500 Calories

To burn 1,333,500 calories, a 190 pound male would have to:

Backpack for 2,208 hours (92 days) nonstop, or

Walk for 5,109 hours (213 days) at 3 mph straight, or

Walk 15,328 miles (9,580 kilometers), or

Bike for 3,865 hours (161 days) at 10 mph, or

Bike 38,652 miles (24,158 kilometers), or

Play basketball nonstop for 2,127 hours 89 days), or

Play billiards for 6,174 hours (257 days), or

Go bowling for 5,149 hours (215 days), or

Stay on the golf course for 3,865 hours (161 days), or

Spend 1,718 hours (72 days) playing competitive football, or

Jump rope for 1,624 hours (68 days) straight!

You would have to walk the length of England about 25.54 times to burn 1,333,500 calories.
