I will be in Siena and Florence next month with limited free time. Are there any reliable shops that sell Habanos in either area?. I know there is a Casa de Los Habanos in Rome but I don't know if I am going to be there long enough to make it there.

There are tons of "Tabac" stores. Look for the big black & white "T". I don't recall any particular stores while there myself but the CC's seem to be legit. If you're unsure, pick up some Toscano's to smoke. They're cheap and pretty tasty. The LCDH in Rome is hard to find. Not much in terms of signage. It's adjacent to a Piazza with a huge ornate, carved column. There is a little shop down the street where the gelato place is on the corner. The LCDH is upstairs, regular tobacco and pipes are downstairs.

Hope this helps. There a few Italian members on this board, hopefully they'll see your post.

Good luck.

I was just in Siena and Florence in Late November. I confess I did not go to any cigar shops in Florence, as we were there more to explore the city's history and culture, but in Siena, while wandering around the marvelous Piazza Del Campo in the center of town, we went off down the street at the far end, and found a Tabachi that had the best cigar selection I saw in Italy, aside from LCDH in Rome and a cigar store in Sicily. They had quite a number of Cuban boxes and singles for sale, and many books on Habanos too. No La Escepcions when I was there of course, but they have been released now. If you want to find out the exact location of what I found, try the following address in Google Maps.

9 Via Rinaldini, Siena, Italy.

Regardless of that, please don't put too much stock in Cigars when in Italy if you havn't been to Florence and Siena, they are far too fascinating to burn up much time looking for cigars, when you could be taking in the Awesomeness of these two Medieval towns - Enjoy them for all they are, man!

And hey, if you do get to that shop in Siena and find the La Escepcions for sale, pick me up a few singles, will you ;)? I still can't believe I missed the release by as little time as I did.

Enjoy yourself, dude!
