kcheek Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/06/09/...test=latestnews Go figure, I didn't even know there were camels in Australia!
JMH Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 They were introduced to work as pack animals in the more arid areas. Apparently they have quite a negative impact on the native wildlife in some areas.
gr8tdanz Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I have heard that camel can be quite tasty. I have also heard the toe is a delicacy in some cultures and is very sought after.
SCgarman Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 How funny! First it was the cattle here in the US producing methane gas causing global warming and now the camels in Aussie land. I guess us humans will be next on the list for all the farting we do in our daily lives!
Fuzz Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Considering that methane comes from ****, if we culled the number of politicians in Canberra, we could lower Australia's total emissions by 95%.
pedrodepacas Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I have also heard the toe is a delicacy in some cultures and is very sought after. Good One
markmurase Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Not only do we in Australia have camels, I understand they are the most pure-bred camels in the world (due to the isolation of Australia's outback). We have even exported camels back to Arabia. Whilst living in Arabia, I was not fortunate enough to try camel but I have seen it on the groom's table at Arabic weddings. They were baby camels. I understand the adult ones are quite tough
Warren Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I have heard that camel can be quite tasty. I have also heard the toe is a delicacy in some cultures and is very sought after. I must say I've always had a fondness for a bit of camel toe.
