NC review is ok right? I had a friend come over and started with the Genios and wanted to try to see how the Davidoff compared. This is my first NC and first Davidoff. I got the Davidoff from duty free because I had some dutyfree credits to use which cut the cost of these NC by half (still more expensive than the Genios)

Davidoff tubos special <<R>> NC

Construction great

Light veins

I noticed that the Cap was a very diff color than the rest of the wrapper

Body is hard - not hard spots but rather the whole stick was hard

Very dry, no oil, colorado wrapper

At cold: sweet grassy, but very light flavor, the scent through the nose is very light also

Opening is bitter and spicy on tip of tongue

Not harsh

No cream

Toasted tobacco

Loose draw - not to my liking

Campfire flavor

Overall, not impressed because value for money, I could get the genios at marginally a cheaper price for more flavors. Good stick if it was half the price I paid for it. I have one more so I will revisit this in 6 months or more... if I nothing else to smoke...

Davidoff's are not bad. They're nicely constructed and generally taste good but the price point is terrible. You're paying for the "brand" and the memory of their Cuban counterparts of days gone by. Knock 50 - 70% off the price and they'd be worth grabbing more often.

I was lucky enough to smoke this with a friend, and that was exactly our conclusion...more on the 70% side, but I would definitely smoke more it if was price properly...

Davidoff's tend to be very light for the most part. I've smoked a few, but only a few because I've never found anything I really enjoyed...at least not at the price point they sell for. I agree, they are living off their rep from the glory days...the cigars are way overpriced. That said, I do shop a lot at the two Davidoff Cigar Shops in Manhattan.
