  1. Very well said @Chibearsv - I totally agree. My applause for the entire FOH Team from Germany. Best Forum and the only one I am in and greatly enjoy.
  2. Sadly a very tight/plugged closed foot FR Piramide. Tossed it half way ....
  3. OK, back home and even though it is a very short 5 minute video it took almost the hour I was away with the dog to upload. Here it is - enjoy !
  4. Thanks !! I didn't think of YT, even though I have a YT channel ( that I rarely use ) - Will see I do it after walking the dog ...
  5. Thank you Andy - happy to know that Bertha is doing well !! That must have been a VERY interesting conversation at HLP .... 🙂 Wish I had been there !
  6. If every picture tells a story as Rod Stewart famously sang, I see myself in that iconic picture of the “Behike” Room at El Laguito that @Ryan posted. Not just because I have almost identical pictures of that room but because we spent that day together as a group of good friends and we must have used the same split second to take the same picture. So here are my pictures and videos of that day in February 2012 with Andy and the others. Continue reading here :
  7. It is a real pity as I cannot upload the 4 videos I have of the tour, at my Casa and a later visit with Swiss friends while a forklift was collecting the BHK boxes ... But here the planned ending of my story ... 🙂 ….. And a super secret video of me back at the Behike Room next day to clean up the shelves and remove all BHK boxes as they were a present for my birthday. El Laguito kindly provided a personalized truck to carry the boxes to my Casa. I remember Andy running around asking about the whereabouts of his “reserved” BHK boxes and getting a sly smile from me …. 🙂 Thank you for the memories @Ryan !!
  8. Tried to upload 3 videos of the El Laguito tour and one video at my Casa but they failed to upload - sorry....
  9. After we met Jose Antonio S. who was doing QC on the BHK’s, Andy's good friend Bertha gave us a tour of the factory. We then went to Club Habana and had lunch & cigars there. From there we went to my Casa in Miramar, corner of Parque Montebarreto & 84th, where we had more cigars and rum while J.A. Solana cut up a cigar to explain the various leaves inside. Here the pictures of the group meeting at the QC Dept. and of that Behike Room in the first floor. At Club Habana and at my Casa.
  10. Well, I left two suitcases full of stuff in Havana and need to go back 🙂 No worries - it is a "clean" movie with no restrictions, actually a Spanish movie with Cuban actors playing in Madrid... Cosas que deje en la Habana (Things I left in Havana) - 1997 film directed by Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón. Three gifted sisters, young, charming and beautiful, leave Cuba in search of the Good Life in Spain. Once in Madrid, these women move in with their Aunt Maria who owns a sweatshop, making fur coats. As they lack work permits, Nena, Rosa and Lumilda are exploited by their aunt who also plans to marry them off to suit her own interests. But Azucena, a friend of Maria's decides to protect the three nieces from their aunt's manipulations. But what happens when Azucena and Nena fall in love with the same Cuban charmer? Stars Jorge Perugorria, Kiti Manver, Violeta Rodríguez and Daisy Granados. Unrated, 110 minutes. Spanish audio with English subtitles.
  11. One of my favourite cigar pictures - 2009 at Vegas Robaina after lunch with the great Don Alejandro.
  12. Took this picture at the Pizzeria in the Melia Cohiba in Havana many moons ago ( the year the RyJ Short Churchill was released ) and have been using it every year to wish a merry Christmas.
  13. The rules leave me confused - you state "No regional" and the only Cuban cigar on that list is a ... Regional ....
  14. Some, very few, are OK. Most are too harsh, made of Picadura or scraps. PS : The cigar is El Surco which translates roughly to The Groove...
  15. Only 1 Cuban cigar in the list of a "Cigar Journal" - WTF, this is a joke not to be taken seriously ....
  16. I really VERY much hope that the Cuban vaccines help. I do. But I just reeceived a message from a Cuban family that they're getting their 4-th jab, so I highly doubt the effectiveness of the Cuban vaccine. That said, cases in Cuba seem to decrease. Good !
  17. Most def - but I try to expand the area to the "La Meca del Tabaco" as I have known it and as it is known in Vuelta Abajo and try to include other Vegueros or tobacco farmers. I believe it should give credit to ALL the Vuelta Abajo/La Meca del Tabaco farmers.
  18. A very quiet and cool Sunday here. Waiting for the 5-th wave to hit the country and surfing it with an extremely mild and sweet FR Casilda. Impressed at how aromatic, well constructed and smooth it is.
  19. When you thought it could not get worse ... Cuba: lack of resources to print ration books for 2022 There are "delays in the importation of raw materials, printing, preparation and distribution of ration books for 2022," reported the newspaper El Artemiseño https://adncuba.com/noticias-de-cuba/actualidad/sin-recursos-para-nuevas-libretas-de-bodega In Cuba, there is a lack of resources to print the ration books for next year, the official newspaper El Artemiseño reported this Thursday. There are "delays in the importation of raw materials, the printing, preparation and distribution of ration books for 2022," the medium published on its Telegram channel. In the absence of blank cards, state warehouses will continue to use the documents corresponding to 2021 and will make annotations of the food they will sell next January "using the lines available in the January and February sheets." According to El Artemiseño, "the products purchased in 2021 will be crossed out before making the entries for 2022". The instructions published by the newspaper of the Communist Party in the province of Artemisa, indicate that "the number 22 will be reflected in the annotations, to signify the year to which they correspond, then the product, the quantity to be dispatched and the date of purchase" . Authorities hope to deliver the new notebooks to consumers in the first weeks of next year. When this happens, "the annotations of the sales made will be updated in these, a process that should not exceed January 30, 2022".
  20. Lovely and you saved on freezing them tooo, splendid win-win 🙂
  21. Got sent some FR Casilda sized cigars, 53x185 and tried the first one today - it blew me away, what a delicious cigar ! Perfect construction and draw, very mild, sweet notes throughout, extremely aromatic and full of flavours. Absolute gem - easily 98 points in my book. The best of La Meca del Tabaco ! 120 minutes of pure joy.
  22. The pleasure is mine @RichG-LI-NY !! Do it, light one up and try - I just did with a FR Casilda and it blew me away, what a magnificent cigar. Best / Nino
  23. @RichG-LI-NY Rich - further to our interesting PM conversation, here are some pictures of the wrapper quality we discussed. I decided to take pictures as I am sending some Farm rolled cigars to a good friend in Vancouver for X-mas. Top 2 pictures are a BHK 56 with some age as can be seen from the yellowed paper. Bottom picture is a newer Casilda sized FR. Enjoy your FR's, you are in the best hands, best regards !
