  1. Bolivar Tubo #1 from the last batch in 2017, smoking very nicely. ‘17 Lusitania...just perfect for a Sunday afternoon.
  2. The Hakkalugi is a pretty new to me bike, I’m really questioning getting it though because I’ve only ridden it about 4 times, and I’m not at all used to the road bike set-up - but it is an amazingly well crafted bunch of carbon fiber, I have to say. The groupset certainly functions well, but I had to adjust some drag out of one of the brake calipers right away and that was an incredibly frustrating process to dial in compared to my other bike. So frustrating that it’s almost a deal breaker for me on GRX.
  3. What the.....? Something tells me that thing does more than just cradle you.
  4. First there’s a ride on one of these to begin the decompression process, usually the dirty one.... ....then it’s on to my captain's chair, complete with rocking seas as the night rolls on
  5. On the other hand, I hear El Rey del Mundo and La Gloria Cubana kind of like each other.
  6. This is meant only for educational purposes and no other reason - it’s my understanding that “vitola” refers to the different types of cigar shapes, “marca” refers to the brand. And you can let either of these mingle in your humidor 😁
  7. I haven’t smoked a 2021 yet, but I’ve been hitting the 2019’s after seeing how well they’ve developed recently. One thing I notice is the immaculate construction - I find it frustrating every time I have a CoLa or Fundie that I end up having to re-light several times. But not with these. It sounds like this excellence continues with the new batch. Tip ‘o the hat to Hamlet and Rob, the 2021’s sound delicious!
  8. No, I don’t. I mean, if the counterfeiters went to the trouble of having HdM bands pretty immaculately printed, were they just too dumb not to go with Cohiba bands instead, and make twice the money? That box of Rio Secos looks exactly like mine...so I guess mine are fake too then. Where’s Rob....I need to speak to him.
  9. Reddit is a wild place chock full of experts stating “facts”. I find it entertaining occasionally, but rarely very useful.
  10. For all of you out there who are now going to unplug your wineador, I recommend you seal it up. In order for the cooling system to operate, there are several openings in the case to accommodate such things as a condensate drainage tube, electrical wiring, a fan, etc. In fact, I believe it’s these small openings letting outside air in that contribute to the sudden spikes in interior condensate when the unit is running. I just cut all of the dangly bits off that were going through the case, and used aluminum HVAC tape on the interior to completely seal off any openings. It’s the only way to achieve RH stability.
  11. As a vitola, it’s RASS for me. I have literally smoked through nearly 3 boxes, so it’s not like I didn’t try. Not a flavor profile for me. As a Marca, it's La Gloria Cubana, and I know I’ve smoked some good examples. But they’ve all had an element of bubble gum, or fruitiness, that seems out of place with the rest of the profile.
  12. Yeah...never mind that it’s got a gas-guzzling 12 cylinder engine that pollutes in far more sinister ways.
  13. I’ve read recently that his last name is Robaina, I think it was in the promotional email from AOC when they first introduced the “Papo” series to the website a few months back.
  14. Ouch! Early on, I had a small refrigerated wineador. Luckily I discovered the small puddle of condensation in the bottom long before it was able to do any damage. I unplugged it immediately and said never again. I’m sure there’s a way to control condensation, but I’m not at that level of technical know-how.
  15. I don’t remember either...I probably asked for ketchup 🤣
  16. What we Americans pass as fish and chips is a joke. I have fond childhood memories of the fish and chips wrapped in oily newspaper that I tasted throughout a visit to NZ (sorry, didn’t know Rob then or I would’ve insisted my parents take my sister and I to OZ instead).
  17. Wow, he’s apparently taking Rob’s whole “King, Ruler, Tyrant....” thing quite literally
  18. Surprised no one’s mentioned Nudies. They’re not Cuban, and they’re not pepper bombs at all. I’ve also got an incoming box of God of Fire Carlito Diademas. While the Carlito blend is said to be the boldest of the line up, I don’t find them peppery, but rather rich in flavor and complex, even somewhat Bolivar-esque. I definitely prefer God of Fire over Opus X.
  19. Work lunches for me are typically unplanned and on the run, and often involve a yummy local plate lunch from a nearby food truck....local plate lunch being an asian-inspired meat (Shoyu chicken, Roast pork, Fried Ahi, etc), sticky white rice, and mac salad. I grew up on this food, and it’s damn tasty, but full of fat and carbs, unfortunately. In a first, I decided to prepare a week of grab ’n go healthy lunches this evening, using grilled King salmon from last night. This recipe caught my eye in an email last week from my medical provider, mainly because I do love my salmon. I added 2 ingredients to the recipe below - avocado, because my tree is going off right now, and some sliced bacon, because, well....bacon! Cheers! Salmon Salad Wraps Ingredients 2 5-ounce cans skinless, boneless salmon, drained well 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley 1/4 cup diced red onion 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 12 leaves romaine lettuce, thick ribs removed 4 large 100% whole-wheat tortillas (about 8 inches in diameter) 1/2 cup sliced red peppers 1 large, ripe tomato, halved and sliced Directions In medium bowl, combine salmon, parsley, onion, oil, lemon peel, and lemon juice. To make each wrap, place 3 lettuce leaves on a tortilla. Top each with a quarter of the salmon salad and a few red pepper slices and tomato slices. Fold the tortilla about an inch over each end of the filling, then roll up.
  20. I’m planning to poop regularly. Which happens when I eat healthier and mountain bike more often. So I’m really planning to eat healthier and mountain bike more often.
  21. Among my first acquisitions here were a box each of ’15 RGP and ’16 RGPC....neither were very impressive then so I put ‘em away and forgot about them. Had a few of each recently and was wowed...they really transformed into well balanced little flavor bombs.
  22. Not only am I a fat bastard...I also have fugly feet. Let the games begin!
