You can never fail but to be surprised around this place. I haven't been into my office for a few days but on walking in just now there was a small package sitting on the desk from our very own Don Candido. You can imagine my surprise to find a Taboado Custom with an untrimmed foot; a '96 Boli; a '96 Monte 1 and a '95 Upmann 2. Peter, do you wear a red suit a Christmas? You're better than Santa! I suppose I'd better do a review or two over Christmas under the circmstances and share the wealth. Always trust Wilkey. Always. Putting a humidor into a fridge because it's hot is not a good idea. If it's a termoelectric unit you could hit dewpoint in the box. If it's a compressor it'll dry out everything. Irrespective, it's not good for the box or cigars to "shock" them with rapid temperature changes. The best thing you can do for yourself is follow the KISS principle. Keep the desktop on the desktop out of direct sunlight. If you're going to go with a controlled environment humidor then do some research. There's plenty of info on the web, a lot of it here. All the best.

I've got one that size in the workshop (we've named him Bruce Snakestein for no particular reason). He's bigger, heavier and stronger than I am. The bastard is so big, he beeps when he reverses. We relocated him about 1k into the bush behind me, he was back 3 days later. I'd suggest naming him and keep in mind he will keep other snakes away. As an added bonus, no danger of anyone busting into your wine cellar and turning it over if you've got a guard snake.

About what you'd expect. I'm proud to be a long term member of low standing.

The problem is I live closer to Darling Harbour than I do to te Czar Deck. It was a great night. I walked in to Cohibar again on Friday night for a quick smoke and (more) Shiraz. The barman asked me what were smoking the other night and he thought they might have been fakes (because he'd never seen them before). I guess that's fair if you're smoking Por Laranaga Regional Belicosos from last year, Cohiba Seleccion Reserva (was it the Media Coronas Trev?) from 02 or 03 and a Cohiba Pyramid from 2006. Thanks again for the Cohiba Seleccion Trevor. Legendary bloody smoke. Sam, I'm looking forward to the article on the "Magnificent Folly". See you guys in about a months time.
